French-Finnish group Breakfast at Phoebe's, has recently completed their first EP ”Birds are singing with me”. It is an intimate session recorded during 48 hours last August in Porvoo, Finland. The Cd was released worldwide through internet store CdBaby.Com in May. In Finland it will be nationally distributed to stores the 9th of June, but is allready available in Stupido Record Store in Helsinki as a Cd and Vinyl.

Couple years ago, a young songwriter-pianist Mikael Kuosmanen met a strong voiced singer Tua Sofia in Helsinki. Soon they started to work together on Mikael's songs with other Finnish musicians. But year later Mikael moved to Paris. That ment big changes for the group. He started looking around for some local musicians and soon he had found new musicians with who to play his music. Aurélien Vacher, a curly haired cellist boy, was one of them.

Mikael, Tua and Aurélien are the soul of Breakfast at Phoebe's nowdays. A small, intimate and strong group. Sometimes you can hear them playing with the Finnish drummer Jooel or some other musicians.The music of "BaP" doesn't easily suit under one specific genre. In their musical universe you can here different influences from jazz, pop, soul, folk, classical etc.

From the starting point, to this point what the group is now, has happened a lot and the journey hasn't been allways that simple. Working between two countries is very challenging but can be also very rewarding. In the near future the group will start to record their debut album.
